Useful information:

Previous experience is not required for Latitud Sur adventure activies in Cordoba.

Altitude: Córdoba city is 400 masl, the hisgest mountain is Champaquí, 2790 masl. Most of our tours are between 900 to 2400 masl.

Weather and necessary equipment:
Dec to Feb is the summer, with sunny and hot days. Rain shower are usual, also fog. So you will need: confortable shoes, swimming suit (there are oportunities for swimming in all our activities), sun porteccion, hat, rain jacket. It might get a bit colder in the evenings.
March to May is the fall, warm and sunny during the day and colder in the evening. Cloudy days are possible, also trizzle. You will need warm clothes and a normal jacket.
May to Aug is the winter, although days are sunny, the weather is quite cold. Take a good jacket with you, also a sweter, gloves and scarf.
Sep to Nov is spring, days are most of the time sunny and warm, but the evenings may be cold. Swimming suit and also a normal jacket are a good idea.

Use always confortable shoes, long throusers, hat and a small bagpack for your things.

Trekking Parque Nacional Quebrada del Condorito

Quebrada del Condorito National Park is located in the west part of Cordoba Province, inside Sierras Grandes range of mountains (see the satellite map>>). There a river has created a huge canyon 800 m deep. Because the geologycal conditions the place is ideal to be home of more than 200 condors and many others birds. The warm air coming from the valley and going up the gorge is used by the condors to fly and also to teach flying to the young pigeons.

1 Day trekking
Price: $ 120.
Departure days and time: THU and TUE 08:15 am (activity takes 12 hs aprox, 7 hs walking)

The activity: After leaving Cordoba we have a 2,5 hs long trip to get "La Pampilla", going up the mountains by Altas Cumbres road, with great views of Sierras Grandes. Then thre is a 3 hs walking, not very hard but long, to reach the North Balcony, a place on the top of the 800 m deep canyon from where is possible to have a view of the entire area and the condors flying, nesting and playing around. We have time for lunch and bird watching before returning to La Pampilla to meet our trasport, and than back to Cordoba.

2 Days trekking

Trekking to Los Hornillos water fall

Nearby Río Ceballos town, the natural reservation area called La Quebrada Dam preserves a pristine landscape of hills, clear streamns and water falls, wildlife and native forest. (see the satellite map & pictures>>) Our trekking takes us to Los Hornillos water fall, an ideal oportunity to experience the quiteness and beauty of Sierras Chicas.

1 Day trekking
Price: $ 100.
Departure days and time: MON 01:00 pm, FRI 01:pm (activity takes 7 hs aprox, 5 hs walking)
Services included: transportation, guide. Not included: water, food.
The activity: After leaving Cordoba we have a 1 h long trip to get "La Quebrada" dam, going into Sierras Chicas area. There our 2 hs walk starts, with great oportunities of birdwatching, to get finally Los Hornillos water fall. If the day is warm swimming is nice in the natural pool. Then we return to the dam and Cordoba city.
    
Trekking "Exploring las Sierras hills"

Every weekend day we go to "not traditional" places in the hills (see the satellite map & pictures>>), exploring almost unknown areas with pristine landscapes. Birwatching, awesome views and the possibility to enjoy clear streams and water falls are part of every tour. Some times we explore river canyons, underground streams, caves, local comunities, etc. Join the adventure!

Horseback riding in Sierras Chicas

One hour far from Cordoba City a beautiful area of mountains, streams and green forest is the ideal place for our horseback riding. We meet the horses in La Josefa traditional farm, starting our ride in the area, a fun itinerary going up and down in the hills, crossing sparkling rivers and visiting the very old and traditional Unquillo town (see the satellite map & pictures>>), place of famous artists and a special way of life. At the end of the riding an asado will be waiting for us. Time for a siesta or a bit more of time with horses and then return to Cordoba. A great experience. Good horses.

Paragliding in Cuchi Corral

Located 2,5 hs far from Córdoba city, Cuchi Corral, close to La Cumbre town (see the satellite map & pictures>>), is one of the best places for paragliding in Argentina. The landscape is unforgetable: a 400 m hill is the base for the jump, the warm air will take you up and time to fly! from the sky you will have a great view of the Sierras hills, valleys, lakes and rivers. Fly is in tandem, with an instructor, and takes between 20 to 30 minutes.

1 Day paragliding
Price: $ 250.
Departure days and time: EVERY DAY (time to agree) (activity takes 7 hs aprox.)
Services included: transportation from La Cumbre to Cuchi Corral, paragliding fly. Not included: water, food, transport from Cordoba to La Cumbre (we make the booking for you)
 
Sky diving
After the necessary instruction you will flight around 20 minutes to get 3000 m high. Then... to jump! The fly is in tandem, with an instructor. (see the satellite map & pictures>>)

Renting a Mountain Bike en Alta Gracia area

You will have your bike available durig the complete day to explore freely the area of Alta Gracia town (1 hs away form Cordoba city). Our guide will give you some ideas about road and places to go, the you do it for yourself. Inside Sierras Chicas, this valley has very nice possibilities for mountain biking. We make the minibus booking for you. (see the satellite map & pictures>>)

Departure days and time: EVERY DAY (you decide the time)
Services included: mountain bikes rental. Not included: transport by mini buses (24 pesos)
 
LEARNING Polo, Rockclimbing, Paragliding or Sky diving
Our “Leranings” (Polo – Paragliding – Sky diving – Rock climbing) are very personalized proposals. We will need to know a few things before prepare the best option for you, such as:
- Your prior experience in the activity (if you have it)
- The time you have for the “learning” (please note you will need al least 2 weeks for polo and rocklimbing (because your body needs to rest between lessons you can’t go so fast) and 3 weeks for paragliding and sky diving (because the activities depend on the weather conditions)
- Your physical conditions (sportive activities you usually practice)
- The kind of accommodation you prefer during the course (hostel, hotels, traditional farms, etc.)
- The optional activities you want to do during your free time (cultural or adventure tours in Córdoba, tango or Spanish lessons, 2-3 days tours to other places in Argentina as Iguazú falls, Buenos Aires city, Mendoza, etc)
