Following the Colorado river we will ride through one of the most stunning valleys of the entire Andes mountain range. Our destination is the upper Colorado Valley, an amiptheatre surrounded by many 6000m giant peaks, a rarely visited place and in completely pristine condition. From our camp site we will explore glaciers, ice penitentes fields and frozen water falls, and the base camp of the awe inspiring Mercedario (6770 m) south face. At night will be the relaxing time next to the fire, watching the sky full of stars.

During the expedition guides and baquianos will ride with you the entire time and will teach you how to handle your horse and ride efficiently and safely, so you don’t need any prior riding experience.
We will finish the ride in Barreal, small town oasis in the desert. There you will have the opportunity to enjoy the quiet daily life before heading back to Mendoza city, the wine capital of Argentina.

Probably you will reach the area by Mendoza airport so we recommend you to spend some extra days in Mendoza city, the wine capital of Argentina, at the end of the tour enjoying the many possible optional activities (check the list below). Transfers, transport to Barreal, pre and post accommodation and optional activities can be booked through the Latitud Sur office.
