As a continuation of our programs "Cusco & the Inca Trail..." or "Cusco & Machu Picchu..." we recommend you to take the trip to the Titicaca Lake area, visiting its lovely island ruins where, according to legends, the Inca culture arose. We will spend one night in a local family house to learn the antique traditions and way of life, before continuing on our way to charming Copacabana town and then to La Paz, the vibrant capital of Bolivia

Please note that this trip departs Cusco early morning. Should you wish to spend extra time there an earlier arrival should be planned and additional accommodation booked through your agent or the Latitud Sur office.
This tour finishes in La Paz, post-accommodation, transfers and optional activities can be also booked.

Itinerary  

Day 01 From Cusco to Puno Hotel L 8:30 am we take our tourist bus to Puno, visiting on the way picturesque towns and archaeological sites such as Andahuaylillas, Pikillacta, Raqchi, Pucará, La Raya. Lunch is included.
We arrive at the hotel in Puno around 5 pm.

Day 02 Titicaca’s Islands Tour Family house BLD 08:00 am we go to the port to take the boat. We will navigate the Iñago lake 1.5 hs to get to the Uros Floating Islands. We will see the peculiar communities living in the islands, using the “totora” plant as basic material for houses, canoes, food, etc. We will visit the floating local school before continuing our navigation to Amantaní Island, where we will dinner and stay at night in a local family house.

Día 03 Titicaca’s Islands Tour and Puno Hotel B After breakfast with the local family we will have a walk around the island, visiting Amantani town before continuing the navigation to Taquile Island. There we will go for a walk to the top of the island where a viewpoint allows us a wonderful view of the area. Finally we take our boat to return to the hotel in Puno, arriving around 6 pm.

Día 04 Tiwanaku - Copacabana Hotel B L Early at morning we will leave to visit the pre-Inca archaeological site of Tiwanaku, a mysterious place dating from 1500 B.C. plenty of fantastic architecture and fine sculptures. We will visit there the Acapana pyramid, the famous Sun Door, the underground Temple, etc. before heading to Copacabana. The rest of the day will be free in Copacabana to enjoy this beautiful town next to Titicaca Lake.

Día 05 Isla del Sol – Copacabana Hotel B L Today will have an excursion to the Isla del Sol (Sun Island), the place where according to the legend the Incas arose. There we will visit the ruins and have an amazing view of the Titicaca Lake. We will return to Copacabana, having free the rest of the day.

Día 06 Copacabana - La Paz Hotel B at midday we will head to La Paz. Rest of the day free in La Paz.

Día 07 La Paz B Transfer to the airport or the bus station.

PRICE:

Services included: Mentioned transfers, 5 nights of lodging in 3* hotels in Puno, Copacabana and La Paz. One night in a local family house. Two days excursion to the Floating Islands, excursion to Isla del Sol, excursion to Tiwanaku, all the necessary entrance tickets. Detailed meals (optional vegetarian menu). English-speaking staff.

PRE DEPARTURE INFORMATION

Thank you for choosing a tour in South America with Latitud Sur Group. The following information is provided to assist you in preparing for your trip.
Our itineraries are not luxury tours. At times it may be dusty, dirty, wet, hot or all of this at the same time! I your approach your trip with a spirit of adventure and a positive attitude, you and your fellow travelers will get the most out of the journey.
Personal travel insurance is required (bring a copy with you to give to the tour conductor)

It is compulsory you inform us if you suffer asthma, diabetes or other problem we should know.

ACCOMMODATION: in 3* hotels in Puno, Copacabana and La Paz.

BEVERAGE: We recommend you drink bottled water while in Peru and Bolivia.

FOOD: continental breakfast included (bread, juice, jam, butter).
Peruvian food is amazing, because variety and taste. A normal meal costs 15 soles.

DOCUMENTS: passport is required. You will need to have a copy with you during the tour. Visas are not our responsibility, contact your embassy to get information about countries that required visa to visit Peru.

CLIMATE: during May, Jun, July and Aug is the dry season, with sunny warm days and very cold nights (Although the sun during day we will be high in some tours so you need a heavy sweeter) Nov, Dec, Jan and Feb are the rainy season, with often long rains and warm temperature. The rest of the months can be sunny or rainy (short rains), not very cold.

MONEY AND CHANGE: the local money is the “sol”, 3.25 soles are equal to 1 dollar. ATM machines are available in Cusco, Pisaq, Aguas Calientes and Ollantaytambo.

SPECIAL VACCINATION: is not required.
